Stratygrafia warstw wierzowskich z obszaru Stępina - Cieszyna na podstawie amonitów
Abstract
Przedstawione amonity wskazują, że wiek piaskowca grodziskiego z warstw wierzowskich w obrębie omawianego obszaru przypada na dolny apt.STRATIGRAPHY OF THE WIERZOWICE BEDS FROM THE STĘPINA - CIESZYNA AREA (CENTRAL POLISH CARPATIDANS) ON THE BASIS OF AMMONITESThe paper presents a brief discussion of stratygraphy of the Lower Cretaceous of the Silesian Unit from the area west of Wisłok river (Figs. 1, 2). Oh that background the stratigraphic value of rich (about 100 specimens) collection of ammonites derived from the Grodziskie sandstones of the Stępina - Cieszyna area is discussed. The ammonites are generally well-preserved (Tables II, III). From the ammonite species identified 16 species appeared useful for stratigraphic purposes (Table 1). The ammonites indicate the Early Aptian age of the Grodziskie sandstones from the Wierzowice Beds of the Brzeziny - Stępina - Cieszyna zone (Table 1). This dating is supported by the results of micropaleontological studies. The ammonite fauna is typical of the Mediterranean province (Tethyan Ocean).Downloads
