Możliwości sformalizowania podziału lito stratygraficznego środkowego i górnego triasu epikontynentalnego w Polsce
Abstract
ON POSSIBILITIES TO FORMALIZE LITHOSTRATIGRAPIDC SUBDIVISION OF THE EPICONTINENTAL MIDDLE AND UPPER TRIASSIC OF POLANDIn connection with the publication of The Principles of the Polish Classification of Stratigraphic Terminology and Nomenclature (S. Alexandrowicz and others, 1975), the current state of lithostratigraphy of the epicontinental Middle and Upper Triassic of Poland is analysed in order to test the possibilities of transformation of the existing subdivision into formal one. The analysis did not cover the area of the Silesian-Cracow Upland, which will be discussed somewhat later. The analysis showed that a formal subdivision based on the existing lithostratigraphical subdivisions may be introduced in almost the whole area of Poland (Tables 1-4). Informal subdivisions should be temporarily left for the Middle Muschelkalk in some areas as well as the Upper Triassic in peripheral parts of Upper Triassic cover only.Downloads
