Warunki występowania i perspektywy odkrycia nowych zasobów soli kamiennych na przedgórzu Karpat
Abstract
W ciągu ostatnich 25 lat odkryto i udokumentowano nowe złoża w okolicy Bochni i Tarnowa. Między Tarnowem a Przemyślem w wielu otworach wiertniczych napotkano występowania soli kamiennych, ale osady te wykazywały niewielkie miąższości i występowały na dużych głębokościach.CONDITIONS OF OCCURRENCE AND PERSPECTIVES OF FURTHER DISCOVERIES OF ROCK SALT DEPOSITS IN FORELAND OF THE CARPATHIANS Miocene rock salt deposits at Wieliczka and Bochnia, Carpathian Foredeep, have been exploited for several centuries and they fail to cover the demand of chemical industry of southern Poland. The last 25 years witnessed discovery and documentation of several new deposits whichm, however, did not solve that problem. In the last years, prospecting and documentation works were mainly concentrated in the vicinities of Bochnia, where were started mining works aimed at exploitation of some new deposits, and in the Tarnów area, in connection with recognition and proving of resources of rock salt in other deposits. Rock salts were found in several drillings in the zone of folded salt-bearing Miocene, stretching between Tarnów and Przemyśl in the front of the Carpathians. However, they are usually thin and fairly deep seated (at depths even over 2,000 - 3.000 m) so they are at present treated as without economic value. Much attention should be also paid to numerous occurrences of Miocene gypsum both along the margin of the Carpathians and in sequences transgressively overlaying the Flysch nappes in marginal part of that range. The studies should cover small deposits with resources over 2,000,000 t but high content of CaSO4 • 2H2O and lack of disadvantageous admixtures (i.e. deposits of high-quality gypsum).Downloads
