The limburgites of the Polish Carpathians
Abstract
The geochemical and petrographical correlation of mafic and ultramafic vulcanites and subvulcanites forming emplacements in Lower Cretaceous sediments of external and internal Carpathians was performed. Old and present analytical data yield further evidences implying consanguinity of Tatra limburgites with rocks of Silesian-Moravian teschenite formation. They represent products of initial volcanism connected with Neocimmerian tectonic phase" The limburgites seem to be probably first in succession, bounded to initial stages of rifting in continental crust of reduced thickness.Downloads
