Prędkości fal sejsmicznych w pokrywie osadowej platformy wschodnioeuropejskiej
Abstract
Przedstawiono wyniki analizy prędkości podłużnych fal sejsmicznych w pokrywie osadowej polskiej części platformy wschodnioeuropejskiej. Na podstawie danych z 261 otworów przedyskutowano szczegółowe zależności prędkości fal sejsmicznych od głębokości·dla wszystkich okresów geologicznych od czwartorzędu i trzeciorzędu po kambr. Dane były aproksymowane funkcją liniową v(z) = a+βz i potęgową v(z) = azb. Współczynniki w tych zależnościach zostały określone metodą najmniejszych kwadratów. Wyniki analizy dla również rejonów platformy porównano z wynikami uzyskanymi przez innych autorów. Określono również zależność prędkości średniej od miąższości dla pokrywy kenozoiczno-mezozoicznej oraz osadowej polskiej części platformy wschodnioeuropejskiej.VELOCITIES OF SEISMIC WAVES IN SEDIMENTARY COVER OF THE EAST-EUROPEAN PLAFFORM The paper presents results of analysis of velocities of seismic waves in sedimentary rocks of Polish part of the East-European Platform. The changes of the velocities along with depth in all the formations from the Quaternary and Tertiary to Cambrian are discussed on the basis of data from 261 boreholes. Data for individual formations were approximated using linear and power functions v(z) = a+βz and v(z) = azb, respectively and coefficients α and β and a and b were calculated by the least square method. Cenozoic strata, less than 350 m thick in the studied area, are characterized by mean velocities of about 1800 m/s. The velocities appear highly varying in Mesozoic rocks, especially Jurassic ones (Figs. 3), being the lowest in the Peribaltic Syneclize (A1) and the highest in the Lublin Synclinorium (C14). This is also reflected by variability of mean velocities of the Cenozoic-Mesozoic complex (Fig. 7). The highest velocities (about 5000 m/s at the average) were recorded in the case of Permian and Devonian rocks (Figs. 4a and c).Table 1 shows the velocity-to-depth relation for individual stratigraphic formations and geological units of north-eastern Poland. The data make possible estimation of layer velocities for sedimentary cover in a given region or depth interval (see e.g. Fig. 9). The presented equations for calculation of layer velocities and mean velocities for the Cenozoic-Mesozoic cover (equations [19] and [20]) and the whole sedimentary cover (equations [21] and [22]) may be used in reflection and refraction surveys and also deep seismic soundings.Downloads
