Nowe stanowiska czwartorzędowych bezkręgowców w północno-wschodniej Polsce

Abstract

Opracowano profile geologiczne żwirowni w Kruklankach k. Giżycka i w Bakałarzewie k. Suwałk, dowiązując zebrane informacje do większego obszaru, którego budowę geologiczną wyinterpretowano na podstawie profilów otworów wiertniczych. Osady kredy jeziornej z fauną w Kruklankach, występujące w kompleksie warstw piaszczysto-mułkowych, pochodzą z interglacjału eemskiego i są przykryte dwiema seriami utworów wodnolodowcowych. Kreda jeziorna z fauną w profilu Bakałarzewa rozdziela dwie serie osadów wodnolodowcowych ostatniego zlodowacenia i reprezentuje subinterglacistadiał mazurski.

NEW LOCALITIES OF QUATERNARY INVERTEBRATES IN NORTH·EASTERN POLAND

Fossiliferous lacustrine chalk, displayed at shallow depths in numerous sections in the Mazury and Suwałki lake regions, was studied by H. Hess v. Wichdorff (1916), K. Świerczyński (1958) and others (Fig. 1). The new localities of sediments with invertebrates, Kruklanki and Bakałarzewo, are described in this paper.

The section of gravel pit from Kruklanki displays (Figs. 2 -4) fossiliferous lacustrine chalk sediments in its basal part (Fig. 4, layer 1). The sediments form an intercalation in a series of sandy-silty ones with horizontal bedding, deposited in either lacustrine basin or ancient river bed. The sediments are overlain by two series of fluvioglacial ones (Figs. 4, layers 2 and 3). Carbonate sediments yielding bivalve fauna, gastropods and ostracodes are assigned to the Eemian Interglacial. Sediments of the layers 2 and 3 correspond to two glacial periods of the Baltic Glaciation: Leszno and pomeranian subglacistadials in the stratigraphic subdivision proposed by S.Z. Różycki (1972).

The gravel pit section from Bakałarzewo (Figs. 8 - 10) displays fluvial muds and sands overlain by two series of fluvioglacial gravels (layers 4 and 6), corresponding to the Baltic Glaciation. The gravel layers are separated by a layer of gyttja-carbonate sediment and lacustrine chalk (layer 5), yielding fauna of gastropods and bivalves highly diversified at specific level. These sediments originated in times of the Mazury subinterglacistadial.
