Kontakt granitu karkonoskiego z łupkami Wysokiego Grzbietu (Sudety)
Abstract
CONTACT OF THE KARKONOSZE GRANITE AND WYSOKI GRZBIET SCHISTS (SUDETY MTS) A zone of contact of the Variscan Karkonosze granite (299 m. y. old) and Proterozoic metamorphic series (represented by genisses, Izera granutes and micaceous, chlorite-quartz and micaceous-quartz schists) was studied in the area of Szklarska Poręba Dolna, Sudety Mts (Fig. 1). The Karkonosze granite contacts there the Wysoki Grzbiet micaceous-chlorite schists. In the contact zone, schists have been metamorphosed to hornfels schists and andalusite-cordierite or cordierite hornfelses. Local elevations of top surface of granite are characterized by effects of development of metasomatic processes beneath rocks of the Wysoki Grzbiet schist-hornfels series. The processes resulted in origin of a zone of transformed granite with porphyry structure, phenocrysts of pinky feldspars up to 5 cm in size, and band-like concentrations of biotitites (Table 1). Zones situated further from the granite exocontact display effects of biotitization, hematization, formation of secondary concentrations of magnetite in hornfelses, and albitization expressed by origin of albite phenocrysts in tectonic loosenings in hornfelses and hornfels schists (Fig. 2).The metasomatosis was connected with supply of additional amounts of potassium and silica, rare earth elements, zircon, thorium, uranium, phosphor and niobium (Table 3). Table 2 shows concentration of ore elements. In the Wysoki Grzbiet schist zone, there are inferred several local elevations of top surface of the Karkonosze granite. The elevations could be the place of development of metasomatic processes and mineralization similar to theses described from the area of Szklarska Poręba DolnaDownloads
