Tabulata i Chaetetida z otworu wiertniczego Ostałów 1

Abstract

 W osadach dewonu profilu Ostałów 1 występują z Tabulata rodzaje Alveolites, Cladopora, Striatopora, Thamnopora, z gatunkami: Alveolites bergeri Iven i Cladopora cylindrocellularis Dubatolov. Oznaczono również kolonie z grupy Chaetetida jako Chaetetes cf. lonsdalei Etheridge et Foord. Tabulatom towarzyszą liliowce, brachiopody, małżoraczki i mszywioły. Biorąc pod uwagę całokształt wyników badań paleontologicznych uznano, że osady występujące na głęb. 1962,4-1983,6 m w profilu Ostałów 1 należy zaliczyć do niższej części dewonu środkowego - eiflu.

TABULATA AND CHAETETIDA FROM THE BOREHOLE OSTAŁÓW 1

The paper presents results of studies based on thin sections (18) made of 9 core samples from the borehole Ostałów 1 (Góry Świętokrzyskie Mts). The available samples were small so only a part of the obtained sections of colonies appeared sufficient for specific identifications.

The analysis of thin sections showed that limestone intercalations in the Devonian of the borehole column Ostałów 1 yield Tabulata (Alveolites, Cladopora, Striatopora, and Thamnopora). The identified species include Alveolites bergeri Iven and Cladopora cylindrocellularis Dubatolov. Moreover, there was also found a single representative of the Chaetetida group - Chaetetes cf. lonsdale; Etheridge et Poord.

Tabulata were found to be accompanied by crinoids, ostracodes, fragments of brachiopod shells, bryozoans, and some unidentifiable organic remains. Moreover, there also occur Tetracoralla and Stromatoporoidea.

The above mentioned Tabulata species were hitherto unknown in Poland. The species Cladopora cylindrocellularis Dubatolov is widely distributed in the Eifelian in the U.S.S.R. (Salairian and Shandyan Beds - see Table I), being also known from the Zlichov Beds in Barrandian (W-N. Dubatołow, 1979).

Alveolites bergeri Iven occurs in the Upper Eifelian (Freilinger Schichten) and lowermost Givetian (Oderhauser Schichten) in the Rheinische Schiefergebirge (Ch., Iven 1980), and Chaetetes lonsdalei Etheridge et Foord - the Couvinian stage (Co2b and Co2c beds) in the Ardennes (M. Lecompte, 1939), see Tables III and II, respectively.

Taking into account the whole paleontological record, the strata from the depth interval 1962.4- 1983.6 m in the borehole Ostałów 1 are dated at lower Middle Devonian-Eifelian. No Tabulata assemblages comparable with that from the borehole Ostałów 1 are known from the Middle Devonian in the Góry Świętokrzyskie Mts.
