Upper Silurian and Lower Devonian in the western Holy Cross Mts.
Abstract
Lithology of the Upper Silurian, Lower and Middle Devonian sediments exposed in northwestern part of Kielce are described. Nine lithostratigraphical units representing the six stages of the Silurian and Devonian are distinguished. Three of these units have been newly introduced i.e. Niewaehlów Beds, Kielce Beds and Conglomerates from Gruchawka. Biostratigraphy of the Lower and Upper Silurian greywacke sediments and of a bottom of the Middle Devonian are defined. Lithostratigraphy and structural setting of the Miedziana Góra Conglomerates and their relation to K1onów and Barcza Beds are presented.Downloads
