Propozycja nowelizacji stratygrafii czwartorzędu dla Szczegółowej mapy geologicznej Polski 1: 50 000 w świetle głównych wyników badań stratygraficznych ostatnich 20 lat
Abstract
W zaproponowanym podziale stratygraficznym czwartorzędu wyróżniono 23 podstawowe jednostki - piętra. Główną cechą podziału jest wyodrębnienie na zmianę jednostek "zimnych" i "ciepłych", co jest związane z najwybitniejszą cechą czwartorzędu: zlodowaceniami i falowymi zmianami klimatycznymi. Jednostki zimne obejmują przeważającą część osadów czwartorzędu Polski, natomiast osady jednostek cieplnych występują stosunkowo rzadko. Jednostki ciepłe mają dla podziałów stratygraficznych znaczenie diagnostyczne i korelacyjne. Dla nich wymieniono ponad 50 stanowisk stratotypowych. Wybrano je ze względu na ich rolę w pierwotnym wyróżnianiu jednostek stratygraficznych, w dalszej historii nazewnictwa oraz ze względu na ich znaczenie w najnowszych wynikach badań. Revision proposals of the Quaternary stratigraphy for the detailed Geological Map of Poland 1:50000 in the light of main stratigraphic survey results in the recent 20 years Revision of stratigraphic schems for the Detailed Geological Map of Poland on the scale of 1: 50 000 has been introduced in connection with a wide programme of speeding up its realization. The programme has been coordinated by State Geological Institute. From the beginning of introduction the previous (the third one) Instrukcja w sprawie opracowania i wydania Szczegółowej Mapy Geologicznej Polski w skali 1: 50000 w ujęciu kompleksowym (1977), followed a considerable evolution of stratigraphic investigations of Quaternary in Poland, particularly of Quaternary of Polish Lowland. Most stands investigated lately or being worked out now, that are the base Quaternary stratigraphy of Poland are situated in Polish Lowland or within upland borders. Most basic profiles in the nature of local regional or general stratotypes come also from materials collected for the Detailed Geological Map of Poland on the scale of 1: 50000. In the proposed Quaternary stratigraphy programme stages are basic units. Twenty three such units have been distinguished. A main feature of the division caused to separate "cool" and "warm" units alternately. This is connected with Quaternary most important feature - glaciations and cyclic changes of climate. The "cool" units comprise most part of the Quaternary deposits in Poland. Attempts have been made to distinguish the leading horizons, which are of the local nature. The "warm" units however have a diagnostic and correlative meaning for stratigraphic divisions. The "warm" unit deposits occur relatively rare. The places where they occur, the investigation stands and geological profiles have been admitted as stratotypes. For particular "warm" units have been listed over 50 stratotypical stands. They have been chosen due to their role in primary distinguishing of stratigraphic units, in nomenclature history and their meaning in the latest results.Downloads
