Abstract

PRELIMINARY REPORT OF THE MALM STRATIGRAPHY IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD OF KAMIEŃ POMORSKI (POMERANIA)

This paper deals with the outlines of the Malm stratigraphy in the neighborhood of Kamień Pomorski, basen on lithology, macro-and microfauna.

Thanks to the materials obtained from bore-holes effected at Strzegowo, Czarnogłowy and Świętoszewo, it was possible to establish the stratigraphy of exposures at Kłęby, Czarnogłowy and Świętoszewo. The sedimentation basin of the Upper Jurassic sea, covering the territories of Western Pomerania, displayed the characteristics of a littoral sea, while the sediments originating there in were, however, not littoral. In the basin, the vertical floor movements might have had some influence on the accumulation of sediments of different thickness, as show by very short distances between sediments of non-uniform series.
