REPORT ON THE PŁOŃSK 1 BORE-HOLE (CENTRAL POLAND)The planned investigation of the margin of the crystalline massif, started by the Geological Institute by the carrying out of bore-holes at Ełk, Pisz, Ostrów Mazowiecka and Głowaczów, has been continued by the Petroleum Industry which undertook a drilling at Płońsk.This bore-hole has been located on an interesting gravimetric culmination (Fig. 1), in order to obtain preliminary data on the uplifting and wedging out of the Mesozoic and Young Palaeozoic strata, and on the possibility of their containing bitumina.
