Abstract

PRELIMINARY STRATIGRAPHIC DETERIMINATION OF THE LOWER CRETACEOUS IN THE REGION OF ROGOŹNO AND OZORKÓW (CENTRAL POLAND)

In the region of Rogoźno and Ozorków, the Cretaceous deposits appear in the boundary between two large tectonic units - the Łódź basin and the, Kujawy anticlinorium. They are laid down conformably on the highest sediments of ,the Purbeckian which have developed in the form of marle and marly shales, with thin beds of lumachels with·Cyrena containing a rich Purbeckian fauna of ostracods.
