Uwagi o stratygrafii i liasu i dolnego doggeru na niżu niemiecko-polskim
Abstract
NOTES ON THE STRATIGRAPHY OF THE LIAS AND LOWER DOGGER ON THE GERMAN-POLISH LOWLANDDuring recent years, the fundamental geological investigation carried out in Western Pomerania has supplied much new material and, among it, data concerning the Lower Jurassic. Most probably there occurs, on the investigated area, an interfingering of marine facies (west) with continental facies (east) of the Lias; owing to this, the discussed area is particularly predestined to throw ligb.t upon the stratigraphy of the powerful series of the continental Lias, known in Central Poland. The present paper is the author's attempt of correlating, on the basis of these new data, the German Lias with the Central Polish Lias. Palaeontological data, it is true are scanty in the profile of the Pomerania-Lias and, so far, the collected materials has not yet been worked out in whole. Unfortunately, the chances of supplementing this material, at least as far as Polish territory is concerned, seem to be very lilited, since eastwards the marine influence in the Lias vanishes, while southwards the Lias is almost inaccessible, deeply buried underneath the Late Mesozoic deposits.Downloads
