Abstract

PETROGRAPHY OF ZECHSTEIN IN THE ŚWIĘTY KRZYŻ MOUNTAINS

Zechstein sediments of an epicontinental sea appear on the area of the Święty Krzyż Mountains in but few outcrops; but their presence has furthermore been established by several bore-holes. In order to procure a full lithological picture of these sediments the author undertook a petrographical investigation of the cores of· these bore-holes, paying special attention to heavy minerals and to the micro-facies.
