Abstract

PROBLEMS OF BOUNDARY BETWEEN NAMURIAN AND WESTPHALIAN IN THE PRODUCTIVE CARBONIFEROUS OF THE OSTRAVA -KARVINA REGIONThe author has investigated the division of the Productive Carboniferous in the Ostrava-Karvina region and, in particular, the boundary between the Ostrava (marginal) beds and the anticlinal beds, and between the anticlinal and the Karvina beds. After discussing the various heretofore introduced divisions, based on the occurrence of macroflora and macrofauna, the author pays special attention to stratigraphical conclusions resulting from spore analyses .of coal seams. from the Poruba, anticlinal, Sucha and Doubrava beds.
