Abstract

GEOLOGICAL DESCRIPTION OF DEPOSITS OF MOULDLING SANDS IN THE VICINITY OF NIEGOWA

In this paper the author discusses briefly the deposits of moulding sands, occurring in the Cracow-Wieluń Jura near Niegowa.

These deposits appear in karst forms, mostly adjacent to rocky limestones, and are of Tertiary age. Usually the sands are underlain by deposits of the Upper Jurassic. These sand deposits show various shapes and thicknesses. On the basis of the largest deposit, Moczydło III, the author has characterized this deposits as to its geology.
