Tufity we fliszu podhalańskim
Abstract
TUFFITES IN THE PODHALE FLYSCH (WESTERN CARPATHIANS)During mapping on the Podhale Flysch, in the area west of the Biały Dunajec river, the authors discovered, tuffogenic rocks. These are exposed in the lower Chochołów beds the age of which has been established, on the basis of their nummulite fauna, to be Middle Eocene. The lower Chochołów beds, in which these tuffogenic rock, appear are developed in the form of bluish-grey calcareous shales; breaking spherically during alteration. In these shales, pIaty sandstones occur. The interlayers of tufogenic rocks are repeated 6 to 7 times within the complex, of the lower Chochołów beds which has a thickness of about 100 m. The thickness of the interlayers is from 1 to 30 cm. each.Downloads
