Uwagi o newizie jury częstochowskiej
Abstract
NOTES ON THE NEVISIAN OF THE CŻĘSTOCHOWA JURA CHAINThis paper is intended to present viewpoints with regard to the stratigraphy of the Nevisian of the Częstochowa Jura and to suggest a subdivision of this formation, based upon Cardioceras evidence. On the basis of amply appearing ammonites of genus Cardioceras the author distinguishes two zones: a lower one with Cardioceras bukowskii and an upper one with Carclioceras excavatum. The lower zone has been determined on the basis of the continuous appearance in its sections of species Cardioceras (Scarburgiceras) bukowskii M a i r e, - whereas the upper zone was established by means, of the appearance of species Cardioceras (Scoticardioceras) excavatum (S o w.).In Cardioceras excavatum zone there were found forms named Cardioceras sp. A, B, C, D, E. They are difficult to identify as to species, due to their poor state of preservation; yet they are important forms in view of their being transitory to younger Cardioceras forms appearing in the Argovian. The Nevisian, of the Częstochowa Jura Chain is documented by numerous ammonites(see Table 2 in Polish text), grouped in the following genera: Cardioceras, Perishinctes, Taramelliceras, Oppelia, Creniceras, Campylites, Trimarginites, Popanites, Bukowskites, Lissoceratoides, Oecotraustes, Goliathiceras, Lytoceras, Pachyceras, Euaspidoceras, Holcophylloceras, Peltoceratoides, Parawedekinidia.Downloads
