Poszukiwania złóż metali rzadkich metodą szlichową we wschodnim obrzeżeniu masywu Karkonoszy
Abstract
EXPLORATION OF DEPOSITS OF RARE METALS BY THE SLICK METROD IN THE EASTERN BORDER OF THE KARKONOSZE MASSIF (Sudeten Mts.)In the eastern border of the Karkonosze Massif, between Miedzianka in the north and the Polish frontier in the south, there has been carried out a preliminary exploration of ore deposits based on a mineralogical slick analysis. The results of these investigations are negative; still they furnish much, interesting material for the cognizance of the geological structure of the investigated region. On the basis of the quantitative mineralogical analysis of the slick samples and the examination of thin sections of their mother rocks there have been distinguished several groups of paragenetic mineraIs which characterize the facies and the metamorphic series occurring here. The distribution of the discussed paragenetic groups indicates the manner in which the degree of metamorphism changes. Thus we observe that the entire area has undergone regional metamorphism, and that at some localities there has been of great importance both dislocational and contact metamorphism. Moreover, these investigations show that previous as well as current geological surveys are of little value and should be brought up to date. In this particular instance the distribution of the paragenetic group, characteristic for the pyroxene-hornfels facies, made possible the discovery of several new localities of occurrence of contact rocks at the contact sphere of the Karkonosze granite and its mantle. On the other hand, the discovery, in the slick samples, of minerals with the properties of glaucophane made it possible to find, in the vicinity of Niedamirów (O. Juskowiak,1957) rocks, which contain minerals typomorphic for the glaucophane facies.Downloads
