NEW LOCALITY OF UPPER VISEAN FAUNA FROM WAŁBRZYCH MIASTO

In this paper the author presents in detail the lithological section of a trench 80 m. long, reporting the fossils found there (see Table). This trench was excavated within Upper Visean strata (Szczawno Culm), west of the Szczawienko -Wałbrzych Miasto highway ,(Fig. 1). This new fauna locality is; in succession, the seventh occurrence of fauna discovered in the region of Wałbrzych Miasto which, two years ago, has been described in a monograph (H. Żakowa, 1958b). The sediments exposed in this trench consist alternately of greywacke and argillaceous shales with argillaceous and calcareous intercalations, greywacke rocks, interformational breccia and, at the bottom, finegrained conglomerates.
