Abstract
PETROLOGICAL STUDIES OF CRYSTALLINE SUBSTRATUM TOUCHED BY BORING AT OSTRÓW MAZOWIECKA (EASTERN POLAND)At Ostrów Mazowiecka, (Eastern Poland) the crystalline substratum has been touched by boring at the depth of approximately 1292.3 m.; the crystalline rocks are overlain by quartzites of undetermined thickness (about 12 m.). The contact between quartzites and crystalline rocks has not been determined. In the bore-hole, drilling work has been terminated at the depth of 1312.0 m.The author's present the megascopic characteristic of the crystalline rocks, the results of microscopic examinations (Fig. 1, Table 2, Pl l, II, Photos 4-7), and of X-ray examinations (Table 1). In order to determine the chemicaI composition of the granite; they have carried out the chemical analysis of a sample taken from the depth of about 1306.6-1307.1 m. (Table3). On this basis they have computed normative composition CIPW and the Zavaritsky's parameters (Table4), as well as the acidity of the rock (TabIe 5). They also carried out a Zavaritsky's projection (Fig, 2).Downloads
