W sprawie wieku warstw bostowskich w związku z problemem granicy pomiędzy sylurem i dewonem w Górach Świętokrzyskich
Abstract
ON THE AGE OF THE BOSTÓW BEDS, IN CONNECTION WITH THE BOUNDARY PROBLEM BETWEEN SILURIAN AND DEVONIAN IN THE ŚWIĘTY KRZYŻ MOUNTAINSThe author endeavors to revise opinions as to the stratigraphy of the Upper Silurian and Lower Devonian in the Świety Krzyż Mountains, basing her suggestion on literature and on more recent geological material derived from drillings. In a stratigraphical table she illustrates the opinions held in successive years as regards the stratigraphy of the Upper Silurian and Lower Devonian (Fig. 1).It appears from this table that the age of the Bostów beds is of fundamental importance for establishing in this area the boundary line between the Silurian and Devonian. The Bostów beds are a complex of argillaceo-arenaceous rocks locally with calcareous intercalations; in some localities like Łomno, Bostów, Czerwona Góra, a marine fauna of Silurian-Devonian character has been discovered in this complex. The fact that, in 1950, J. Czarnocki assigned the Bostów beds to the Silurian, brought a complete change in stratigraphical scheme previously, in 1936, prepared by this same author.Downloads
