Perspektywy poszukiwań złóż rud żelaza w obrębie struktury Szamotuł oraz uwagi o poszukiwaniu złóż oolitowo-okruchowych
Abstract
FORECAST OF PROSPECTING WORK FOR IRON ORE DEPOSITS IN THE -REGION OF·THE SZAMOTUŁY STRUCTURE (WESTERN POLAND) AND NOTES ON THE SEARCH FOR OOLITIC-DETRITAL DEPOSITSOn the basis of core evidence from bore-holes recently sunk by the oil industry in the Polish Lowland, and of other material rendered accessible to the Department of Iron Ore Deposits of the Geological Institute, the author starts out with discussing problems connected with the search for iron ore deposits in the range of the Szamotuły structure. The first data on iron ore bodies in the Middle Jurassic strata of this region were published in 1958 in a report of the geological service of the oil industry.A detailed investigation of the bore-hole material on hand revealed that along-side of the Middle Jurassic, the Lower Cretaceous also represents sediments worth examining as to their content of iron ore deposits.Downloads
