O kulmie z okolic Toszka
Abstract
ON THE CULM FROM THE REGION OF TOSZEKThe region discussed by the author is situated in the NW periphery of the Cracow-Silesia-Karvina Coal Basin. From under a mantle of younger sediments - Triassic, Tertiary and Quaternary - there emerge in the Toszek region greywacke sandstones and shales. Since long they have been looked upon as Lower Carboniferous sediments. It was impossible to identify accurately the age of the fauna found there; however, on the basis of sediments containing an analogous fauna and of tectonic data, these sediments were assigned to the highest part of the Lower Carboniferous, i.e. the highermost Visean (horizon Goniatites granosus).Downloads
