Abstract
PRESENT STATUS OF KNOWLEDGE OF GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF DEEP SUBSTRATUM OF POLAND BEYOND THE CARPATHIANSThe results of drillings hitherto undertaken, in combination with geophysical data collected seem to indicate that the western boundary of the Pre-Cambrian Fenno-Sarmatian Platflorm coincides with a zone of deep fractures. The Święty Krzyż Mountains show a bipartite orogeny: the Kielcide part is Caledonian, the Łysogóry part - Variscan. Both these parts are tectonically close to each other along the Łysogóry overthrust which is continued westwards within the substratum and is clearly reflected in a posthume dislocation of the Mesozoic mantle between Wieluń-Siemkowice and Kodrąb.Downloads
