Warstwy z Lechówka w synklinie łagowskiej
Abstract
THE LECHÓWEK BEDS (UPPER VISEAN) IN THE ŁAGÓW SYNCLINEThe author discusses sediments of the Lower Carboniferous occurring in the region of Lechówek, situated 5 km. northwest of Łagów in the Święty Krzyż Mountains (Fig. 1). These sediments were made accessible by means of 49 open cuts, 4 test pits (reaching to 3.5-14 m. depth), and a cross-cut (Fig. 2). Part of the open cuts uncovered merely Quaternary deposits and the Górno beds, assigned to the Lower and Middle Visean (H. Żakowa, 1962). All the test pits and the majority of open cuts disclosed grey, dark-grey and black argillaceous shales with intercalations of claystones, siliceous, shales, arenaceous siltstones and ferruginous quartz-type tuffites (with thicknesses from 10 to 50 cm. each), containing nodules and lenses of argillaceous siderites (Fig. 3). The age of this series is documented by a fauna found in three test pits (II III and IV); these pits represent new fauna localities at Lechówek.Downloads
