Abstract

HYDROGEOLOGICAL PROBLEMS IN THE TRIASSIC OF THE SILESIA-CRACOW REGIONSince long, the hydrogeological conditions of the Triassic in the Silesia-Cracow region are the object of marked interest, due to the fact that underground waters from sediments of this formation are one of the most important sources of the water supply far both population and industry of this region. In spite of a relatively ample history of investigations, many hydrogeological problems of the Silesia-Cracow Triassic remain obscure. In his paper the author presents four problems he considers to be of prime importance: 1) the alimentation of Triassic water-bearing horizons; 2) the hydro-geological structure; 3) the hydrogeological profile of the Triassic; 4) the permeability of Triassic sediments. These problems the author presents on the basis of the history of hydrogeological examinations of the Triassic of the discussed region, and of his own research and field observations.
