O zjawiskach krasowych w wapieniach Jurajskich okolic Nowego Miasta nad Pilicą
Abstract
ON KARST PHENOMENA IN THE VICINITIES OF NOWE MIASTO ON PILICA (MIDDLE POLAND)SummaryMore attention has been paid in the last years to the karst phenomena occurring in the areas covered by glacial deposits. So far the phenomena here considered were omitted by the research workers mainly due to the fact that they are less effective than those in the uncovered areas. The present article contains preliminary information on the so far not described small area situated south of Warsaw, where karst phenomena are developed in the calcareous rocks of Upper Jurassic age, under a thin cover of glacial deposits. There occurs here a series of lowerings up to 100 m in diameter and up to 8 m deep. For the most part their bottoms are continuously or periodically covered with water. It is possible to find in the zone here considered some new similar objects.Downloads
