Otwornice dolnego karbonu z Wałbrzycha i wybranych obszarów Sowich Gór
Abstract
FORAMINIFERS OF THE LOWER CARBONIFEROUS FROM WAŁBRZYCH AND FROM CERTAIN AREAS OF SOWIE MTS.SummaryThe foraminifers discussed in this paper have been found in marine deposits of Lower Carboniferous age at Wałbrzych (site Nr 3), and in certain areas of Sowie Mts (Sokolec, Jurgów, Kamionki). A list of the foraminifer species occurring in the localities mentioned above is shown in Polish text. The species discussed in the paper are of great stratigraphical value, being characteristic of Upper Visean. It has also been ascertained that the foraminifers reveal a wide geographical spread. Thesy are known to occur in Great Britan, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Soviet Union, and North America. The species found in the areas of Europe and Soviet Union are reported to occur in the Lower Carboniferous, and only Archaediscus krestovnikovni R a u z e r passes to the Namurian. On the other hand, the species encountered in North America (exept for Plectogyra excentralis C o p p e r) are found also in the Pennsylvanian. The data presented above allow to draw conclusions that the species referred to the Visean of Europe and Soviet Union, appeared in the area of North America considerably later, only at the Pennsylvanian time.Downloads
