Abstract
PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF MICROFAUNISTIC EXAMINATIONS OF ZECHSTEIN DEPOSITSSummaryThe present paper deals with the results of micropalaeontological examinations of the Zechstein deposits from the northern and north-eastern areas of Poland (bore holes Lębork IG 1, Wejherowo IG 1, Kętrzyn IG 1, Kętrzyn IG 1, Gołdap IG 1, Olsztyn IG 1, Tłuszcz IG 1, and Łuków IG 1). Zechstein microfauna occurs mainly in dolomites and dolomitic limestones. In the taxonomic description are given foraminifer species that so far have not been found in the area of Poland. The foraminifer assemblage ascertained in the bore holes mentioned above (Tab. 1) is typical of the stages Z1, Z2 and Z3. Among the foraminifers two assemblages have been distinguished. The first one is characteristic of the stage Z1, the second one of the stages Z2 and Z3. The species that occur in the stage Z1 are of restricted extension and of various types of foraminifer tests (calcareous and arenaceous tests). The assemblage of foraminifers encountered in the stages Z2 and Z3 shows a uniserial type of test structure and calcareous structure of wall. The assemblage of the species found in the stage Z1 resembles those occurring in the Lower Zechstein of the Świętokrzyskie Mts., and, not so rich, in Germany; the second assemblage is similar to that from the Upper Permian of Turkey.Downloads
