Nowe dane do stratygrafii kredy, trzeciorzędu i czwartorzędu nad dolną Wisłą (Fordon i Gdańsk)
Abstract
NEW DATA ON STRATIGRAPHY OF CRETACEOUS, TERTIARY AND QUATERNARY DEPOSITS IN THE LOWER VISTULA AREA (FORDON AND GDAŃSK)SummaryIt results from both lithological and stratigraphical researches of the well that has been deepened at Fordon (Fig. 1), and from comparisons with the adjacent bore holes that the regions in study is characterized by several distinct stratigraphical gaps, and by a considerable difference (up to 110 m) in the position of the top of the Upper cretaceous formations.Booth Tertiary detached block and thickness of Quaternary formations (199 m) given without palaeontological evidences of the adjacent bore hole situated about 600 m north of the bore hole under consideration, are also problematic and improbable. In Gdańsk, at a depth from 157 to 160 m, quartz-glauconite sands, light-grey in colour, have been encountered to contain the following fauna representatives: Belemnitella mucronata S c h l o t h e i m s.l. and Gonioteuthis quadrata quadrata B la i n v i l l e, as well as Ostrea sempilana, Ostrea vesicularis and Ventriculites sp.This fauna, particularly belemnite fauna, precisely determines, in the region of Gdansk, at a depth here considered, the Campanian, probably the Lower – Upper Campanian boundary as well.Downloads
