Lądek Zdrój i jego wody mineralne
Abstract
LĄDEK ZDRÓJ AND ITS MINERAL WATERSSummaryBased on his own studies and on literature data, the present author gives a brief geological and hydro geological characteristic of the mineral waters found at Lądek Zdrój, supporting this with the detailed geologic and hydrogeologic maps.In the area under consideration, the author distinguishes a rock series of Algonkian age (Strońsk series). The series is subdivided into three groups: complex of micaceous schists, Gierałtów gneisses and Śnieżnik Mt. gneisses. In addition, he gives a short description of these structural, pre-Caledonian units of higher order, i.e. the Gierałtów anticlinorium, the Radochów anticlinorium and the Ladek synclinorium (Fig. 1). The final formation of these structures is related to the Caledonian orogeny, whereas the processes of mylonitization, cataclasis and dislocations are referred to the deformations of Variscan age. Moreover, the author describes hydrogeological conditions, which prevail in the area of Lądek Zdrój. Hydrochemical characteristic of 6 mineral springs is presented, as well as their genesis and medical properties are discussed.Downloads
