Abstract

SAPROPELITE DEPOSIT AT THE TOP OF SEAM 620 IN THE MINE "ŚLĄSK"In the article are presented results of study on sapropelite occurring at the top of seam 620 in the mine "Śląsk", Upper Silesian Coal Basin. Macroscopically, the·sapropelite black grey in colour, looks like coaly rock of shell fracture. It contains lamellibranchs Anthroconauta minima (H i n d) and Anthraconaia lenisulcata (T r e u m a n), characteristic of fresh-water environment.
