Abstract

GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF THE AREA BETWEEN TOMISŁAW AND PAROWA (LOWER SILESIA)The paper deals with the study made in the area between Tomisław and Parowa, embracing the northeastern portion of the North-Sudetic trough flank.On the results of palynological investigations, the recently signalized new stratigraphical horizon - the Upper Eocene, so far unknown in this region of the trough, has been proved. Taking into consideration the three established new tectonical lines, the author discusses the tectonical structure of the area under study. Moreover, the genetical connexion of the Tertiary deposits with the main tectonical elements has been taken into account, as well as the industrial cha-racteristics of the useful mineral raw materials occurring in the area considered were discussed. A particular attention was paid to the connexion of the tectonics with the occurrence of glass-sands cropping out in the elevated fault sides investigated.
