Abstract

OUTLINE OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE UPPER VISEAN IN EUROPEIn the present paper a general development of the Upper Visean in Europe is discussed on the rich literature. On the map (Fig. 1) is presented only a broad outline (not an outline sensu stricto) of palaeogeographical situation of shallower and deeper facies, except for the East European area, the ·data for which have been taken from palaeogeographic and lithologic-palaeogeographic atlases of both Ukrainian and Russian platforms. As a rule, the hachure concerns type of the facies prevailing in a given area.
