Abstract

CHARACTERISTICS OF QUARTZ-REEF IN THE ROZDROŻE IZERSKIE AREA

The quartz-reef occurring in the Rozdroże Izerskie area is exposed at a long transversal section. It beings to the type of composite veins; besides the central part of about 20 m in width, it also comprises a series of parallel smaller quartz infillings separated by adjacent rocks. This study was concerned with the rock series exposed in the quarry at a width of about 10 m (Fig. 1). The quartz-reef under consideration mainly occurs at the contact of the Izerskie gneisses and the micaceous schists.
