Abstract

GRANULATION AND ROUNDING TYPE OF SAND GRAINS FROM THE VISTULA TERRACE, NEAR TARNOBRZEGThe sands analyzed by the present author were sampled at the mine walls above the sulphur deposit occurring at Piaseczno, near Tarnobrzeg. These are Quaternary sediments to he found in the middle built-up terrace of the Vistula River, analogous one with the Kampinos terrace occurring in the vicinities of Warsaw.A method of studying type of rounding of grains with simultaneous consideration of granulation and of mineral composition of a sediment is the only one when determining the quality of sedimentation and linking the individual arenaceous series in the chronology of phenomena.
