Abstract
GEOCHEMICAL STUDIES OF THE UPPER TRIASSIC ROCKS IN THE ZAWIERCIE REGIONSummaryThe results of the metallometric studies of the Upper Triassic rocks in the Zawiercie area indicate the secondary zinc and lead anomalies to be helpful in prospecting for zinc-lead deposits in Upper Silesia. In most of the cases examined (26 out of 32) anomalies result from the zinc-lead mineralization of Middle and Lower Triassic rocks. The background level and the anomal Zn and Pb values have been calculated by statistical method and they have been compared with analogous data for the Middle and Lower Triassic rocks. Petrographic examinations of thin sections of the Rhaetic-Keuper rocks supported the assumptions on the mode occurrence of metals in secondary aureoles.Downloads
