Abstract
THE MIDDLE OLIGOCENE AGE OF THE TORUŃ CLAYS, BASED ON THE SPORE AND POLLEN ANALYSISThe Toruń clays took their name from a locality at which they had been found. They are known to occur in an area between the localities: Oborniki, Chodzież, Kcynia, Inowrocław, Toruń and·Grudziądz. Moreover they are found in the vicinities of Warsaw and Łódź, in the eastern area of Poland on the Bug River, as well as in the north-western part of the country, near Białogard. The Torun clays represent a non-calcarous clayey, dark brown, frequently thin-bedded deposit. Occasionally, they contain in small amounts of quartz sand, mica or minute intercalations of coal.Downloads
