Ślady występowania w starszego trzeciorzędu morskiego w dorzeczu lłżanki
Abstract
TRACES OF EARLIER MARINE TERTIARY IN THE IŁŻANKA RIVER BASIN (NE MARGINAL AREA OF THE ŚWIĘTY KRZYŻ MTS.)Three new occurrence points of green sands are described. They are found at a distance of 7, 14 and 36 km from the so far known extent area. These deposits are as a rule referred to the Oligocene, although their age has not definitively been determined, mainly due to a lack of index fossils. The green sands contain, in the marginal zone of their occurrence area, disseminated rounded grains of siliceous rocks, commonly characterized by an elongated shape resembling grains of kidney bean.Accumulation of similar gravel are round, at places, at the Mesozic exposures in the north-eastern marginal area of the Święty Krzyż Mountains. One may suppose that these may represent residual deposits of the same sea, not disturbed yet ,by denudation processes.Downloads
