Łupki dictyonemowe warstw krzyżańskich w rejonie Białowieży
Abstract
DICTYONEMA SHALES OF THE KRZYŻE BEDS, REGION OF BIAŁOWIEŻAWithin the scope of geological and prospecting works carried out in the last years in the north-eastern area of Poland by the Department of Iron Ore Deposits of the Geological Institute, some drillings were made, among others, in the region of Białowieża. In addition to the valuable facts of a general nature, also the presence of an interesting profile of the Ordovician strata has been ascertained, among which the Krzyże beds of the lowermost Ordovician-Tremadocian have been distinguished. The investigated profile of the Krzyże beds comprises the lower and the upper Obolus sandstones intercalated by a complex of shales, as well as the dark clay shales with graptolite detritus occurring at the top of the profile (Fig. 1, PI. I, Figs la and Ib).Downloads
