Abstract
RESEARCH OF CARBONIFEROUS FORAMINIFERS BY MEANS OF SERIAL VARNISHED PLATE METHODSummaryThe article presents a review of methods so far used by the authors during the research of calcareous tests of microfauna preserved in the Young Palaeozoic carbonate rocks. A detailed description is given of a method so far not applied in Poland. The method consists in the investigation of microfossils in the serial varnished plates. The results of the above method are demonstrated using a foraminifer Palaeotextularia longiseptata L i p i n a, sampled at a depth of 813,50 m in bore hole Teptiuków IG-1 (Lublin Coal Basin). The intrinsic structure of the foraminifer is illustrated with photographs (Tables I–III) taken of the serial varnished plates.Downloads
