Abstract

MINERALOGIC DESCRIPTION OF CLAYS FROM THE OVERBURDEN OF A SULPHUR DEPOSIT AT JEZIÓRKOSummaryThe paper presents a detailed mineralogic characterization and a description of grain size distribution of Miocene clays from Jeziórko. Two series have been distinguished in these clays: Krakowiec series and Pecten series, which differ from each other in having other mineral composition. The differences in the mineral composition of both series have been a basis to present palaeogeographic conditions during the formation of the deposits in study.
