Abstract
SOME UPPER EOCENE FORAMINIFER ASSEMBLAGES FROM THE CENTRALPART OF THE DUKLA UNIT IN THE CARPATHIANSSummaryThe paper deals with three assemblages of the Upper Eocene microfauna found to occur in the central part of the Dukla unit in the Carpathian. The assemblages described in this paper come from the Upper Hieroglyphic Beds and from the Sub-Menilite globigerina marls found to occur in the Maniowski Potok profile at Maniów and in the Osławica Potok profile at Komańcza. The assemblages show some biofacial differences between the profiles under consideration. Assemblage A1 from the Upper Hieroglyphic Beds collected at the Maniowski Potok discloses more agglutinating foraminifers: Haplophragmoides scitulus, H. walteri, Cyclammina amplectens, Ammodiscus latus, Spiroplectammina gümbeli. Among the calcareous foraminifer are found: Globigerapsis index, Turborotalia centralis, Subbotina eocaena, Globigerina yeguaensis, G. officinalis. The foraminifer assemblage of the same age (Assemblage A2) includes more calcareous species: Rotalia lithothamnica, Anomalina affinis, Gümbelitria columbiana, Cibicides lopjanicus, Globorotalia crassaformis, and the species of Globigerina mentioned above. In the uppermost part of the Upper Hieroglyphic Beds from the Osławica Potok, and in the Sub-Menilite Globigerina marls from the Maniowski Potok, a rich assemblageoaf large and small globigerina representatives occurs (Assemblage B): Subbotina linaperta, Catapsydrax dissimilis, Globigerina yeguaensis, G. tripartite, G. pseudoampliapertura, G. officinalis, Globigerina corpulenta, Turborotalia bannerblowi. The Sub-Menilite Globigerina marls from the Osławica Potok reveals an assemblage of small pyritized calcareous foraminifers: Globocassidulina globosa, Cibicides amphisylensis, Reusella regularis, Chilogümbelina gracillima, Glandulopleurostomella sp., Bulimina ovate, B. pyrula, B. tenera, Turborotalia bannerblowi, Globigerina officinalis, G. praebulloides, G. angustiumbilicata. All this representatives makes here Assemblage C.Downloads
