Abstract

DEPOSITS AND PERSPECTIVE AREAS WITH POSSIBILITIES OF EXPLORATION FOR IRON ORE DEPOSITS IN THE POLISH LOWLAND

The first part of this paper discusses and analyzes the present geological knowledge of the Polish Lowland. The author emphasizes that the discovery and the summing up of useful mineral deposits - among them also of iron ore deposits - is strictly dependent on the degree of our cognizance of the geological structure of those regions. In the author’s opinion this interdependence is directly proportional. He maintains that there exists the possibility of discovering useful mineral deposits. However, a speeding up of the exploration of such deposits presupposes a hastening of the rate at which basic and detailed geological research is being carried out.
