Abstract
SULPHUR AND ASSOCIATED MINERALS IN THE FORELAND OF THE CARPATHIAN FORE DEEP
In the Miocene sediments of the southeastern slopes of the Święty Krzyż Mountains there occurrs a bed of Tortonian gypsum, partly altered into sulphur-bearing post-gypsum limestones.
Due to reduction of the gypsum there were formed sulphur deposits known from the region of Tarnobrzeg. Three suphur varieties occur here pelitic sulphur, compact-cryptocrystalline sulphur and crystalline sulphur. For this last variety common is habit formed by facies: p(111), c(001), s(113), n(001), m(110).
