Abstract

CLAY OOLITES IN DOGGER SEDIMENTS

The report concerns the clay oolites from Dogger sediments found in the bore-holes Choszczno (Szczecin synclinorium), Pasłęk and Gołdap (Peribaltic syneclise). The oolites occuring in the siderite bed from Choszczno contain in their kerneIs some detrital fragments, mainly quartz. The siderite bed (Bathonian stage) consists of small xenomorphic grains of siderite and kaolinite flakes. The oolites consist of kaolinite, often altered into siderite; sometimes chamosite and calcite occur in small amounts, too. Concentric structure of oolites is not always visible and their spherical shape is often deformed by siderite.
