COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF NON-HYDROCARBON COMPOUNDS OF BITUMENS AND CRUDE OILS USING SPECTROSCOPIC METHOD IN INFRA-RED RADIATION

Summary

Based on characteristic changes of absorption in bends typical of hydrocarbon and heterogenous structures, observed during the experiments, the author came to a conclusion that a possibility existed to apply spectral analysis in geochemical interpretation during prospections for crude oil.
The article presents the results of investigations made using infra-red spectroscopy method of fractions of non-hydrocarbon compounds of oils, resins and asphaltenes from oils, as well as of their manifestations observed in bore holes made in the Lublin region, bitumens from bore hole Okuniew IG-1 and bore hole Zakopane IG-1, and from the natural exposures of the Podhale flysh. On the basis of the comparison of the absorption diagrams of the three above fractions of bitumens and oils, an attempt has been made to determine the directions of changes in organic substance, its epigenetic or syngenetic nature, may be also genetical relation of the bitumens in the area considered.
