Abstract

REFLECTORS AS ESTABLISHED BY VERTICAL SEISMIC PROFILING IN THE NORTHERN AND CENTRAL PART OF THE LUBLIN GRABEN

Summary

The paper presents a review of results of vertical seismic profiling completed in the northern and central part of the Lublin graben to establish geological boundaries responsible for the origination of reflexes. Both regional and local reflectors have been traced out. Boundaries within the Permian-Mesozoic complex, also responsible for the intense multiple waves, play a particular role in the wave pattern.
In addition, to a number of reflectors within the Carboniferous sediments intensive reflected waves related to the Middle Devonian have been identified. The present knowledge of the wave pattern based on vertical seismic profiling in the Lublin graben has been discussed.
